USPS Tracking Not Working?

I ordered something on Thursday, which the shipper said they shipped on Friday. They gave me a tracking number to track my shipment, which was shipped with USPS Parcel Post. When I go to track it, since Friday, it has just said "Pre-shipment info received. Is this normal? I'm growing more suspicious that it didn't even ship.
