Do you have to have some kind of license to sell boxing and mma supplies?

I was talking with a drop shipper and I mentioned that they had no boxing or mma supplies. And they said that's because you have to be licensed to sell those things. So do I need to get some kind of license to sell this stuff, if so how and where can I get that license.
